I have been eating Kiwifruit mainly because I like the taste of them and not giving much thought as to if they are good for me or not. It turns out though that the Kiwi is one of the best fruits you can eat. In fact the Kiwi is the most nutrient-rich of the top 26 fruits consumed in the world today.
A Kiwifruit contains both Magnesium and Potassium which help give us energy and fibre that helps us feel full among other things. When compared to other foods two Kiwifruits have more Potassium than a banana, twice the vitamin C of an orange and as much fibre as a bowl of bran flakes. And all that for just 100 calories.
As you would expect they are also packed full of antioxidants too. Whats more, research also shows that Kiwis may help with cancer, depression, eye health, hypertension, immunity, impotence, physical fitness, stress reduction and weight control
There are several easy ways to get this little fruit into you diet. Eat one mid morning or mid afternoon when you get that energy slump. Add it to your cereal or into a yoghurt and my favourite way, in a Pavlova!
